Diagnostic description.
Female. Body size 4.8 (4.5–5.2) mm, ovipositor sheath length 4.1 (3.2–4.2) mm, fore wing length 54.1 (4.0–4.1 mm) (Fig. 13); colouration black except scape and pedicel orange, flagellomeres brown, legs orange, metasoma black except T1–T3 orange, with variable amounts of black anteriorly on T1; wings hyaline except for apex 1st marginal and 4th submarginal cell infuscated (Fig. 14G), hind wing viens spectral; head shape quadrate, width 1.4 (1.4) × length, postocular space 0.4 (0.4) × length of eye in dorsal view (Fig. 14C), transverse carina above toruli absent, malar space 0.2 (0.2) × height of eye in lateral view (Fig.14A); length of scape 1.1 (1.1–1.6) × length of pedicel, first flagellomere 1.2 (1.0–1.3) × length of scape, 0.6 (0.6–0.7) × second flagellomere; mesosoma length 1.8 (1.7–1.8) × width, mesoscutum rounded in lateral view (Fig.14D), length of mesoscutum 1.1 (1.0–1.1) × width in dorsal view (Fig. 14E); medial lobe sculpturing transverse carinae; ovipositor guide oblique positioned distal (Fig. 14F); ovipositor length 1.0 (1.0–1.1) × forewing length (Fig. 13); 2-Rs+M 1.1 (1.0–1.1) × 1-Rs+M, three hamuli, equidistant (Fig. 14G); metasoma pyriform,T1+T2 length 2.5 (2.1–2.5) × width in dorsal view.
Male. Body size (4.5–5.4) mm. Same as female. One paratype male left hemisphere of head is malformed with reduced eye size, missing ocelli and deep notch medially on posterior margin of occipital carina.
Material examined.
Holotype. AUSTRALIA – NSW • ♀, "The Blowhole, Boonanghi S.F., W of Kempsey, NSW. 15-20 Feb 1994, G. Williams" "emerged from fallen Backhousia myrtifolia branch ex rainforest" (AMS). Antennal flagellomeres 5–12 missing.
Paratypes. AUSTRALIA – NSW • 2 ♀, 2 ♂, same location and collector as holotype, various dates (AMS).

Distribution.
This species is only known from the type locality of Boonanghi State Forest, NSW (Fig. 87).
Biology.
This species has been reared from fallen Backhousia myrtifolia branches.
